Author Guidelines
International Journal of Science and Society (IJSS)
- Focus and Scope
International Journal of Science and Society (IJSS) publishes original research articles, review articles, conceptual papers, and case studies that contribute to the understanding and advancement of science in service of society.
The journal aims to promote impactful scholarship that explores the dynamic interactions between scientific knowledge, technological innovation, and societal needs.
The journal welcomes submissions in, but is not limited to, the following areas:

IJSS welcomes contributions from researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and professionals from diverse disciplines around the world.
- Manuscript Requirements
Submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:
- The manuscript must be original and unpublished.
- The manuscript must not be under consideration by another journal.
- The manuscript must be free from plagiarism and publication misconduct.
- The manuscript must be written in clear and grammatically correct English.
- The manuscript must follow the official IJSS template.
- Manuscript Format
- Manuscript length: 5–15 pages.
- Paper size: A4.
- Layout: Single-column format.
- Font: Aptos Narrow.
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
- Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be organized as follows:
- Title
- Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Introduction
- Method
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements (optional)
- References
- Title, Authors, and Affiliations
The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
Author information must include:
- Full name(s) without academic titles.
- Institutional affiliation(s).
- Country.
- Email address(es).
- Corresponding author indicated by an asterisk (*).
- Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should be written in a single paragraph with a maximum length of 250 words and should include:
- Background.
- Research objectives.
- Method.
- Main findings.
- Conclusions.
- Practical implications or recommendations.
The abstract must not contain citations, tables, figures, or equations.
Keywords should consist of 3–5 words or phrases representing the main topics of the manuscript.
- Introduction
The introduction should clearly describe:
- General background of the study.
- Specific research problem.
- Research significance.
- Research gap and novelty.
- Research objectives.
Authors are encouraged to position their work within the existing body of literature and clearly demonstrate its contribution to science and society.
- Method
The method section should provide sufficient detail to allow replication of the study.
This section may include:
- Research design.
- Study population or participants.
- Data sources.
- Data collection procedures.
- Analytical methods.
- Models, frameworks, or instruments used in the study.
- Results and Discussion
This section should present the findings and their interpretation in an integrated manner.
Authors should:
- Analyze findings critically.
- Compare results with previous studies.
- Discuss theoretical and practical implications.
- Relate findings to the research objectives.
- Highlight the societal relevance and broader impact of the study.
- Tables, Figures, and Equations
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
- Table titles should be placed above the tables.
- Figure captions should be placed below the figures.
- All tables and figures must be cited in the text.
- Equations should be prepared using Equation Editor and numbered consecutively.
- Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the main findings and clearly address the research objectives.
The conclusion should not simply repeat the discussion section but highlight the scientific contribution, societal relevance, and significance of the study.
- Acknowledgements
This section is optional and may be used to acknowledge:
- Funding organizations.
- Research institutions.
- Collaborators.
- Technical assistance and other forms of support.
- References
IJSS adopts the IEEE citation style.
Reference requirements:
- Minimum 15 references.
- All references must be cited in the manuscript.
- Priority should be given to primary sources, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Authors are encouraged to use references published within the last 5 years.
- The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is strongly recommended.
- Publication Ethics
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original.
- No plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification is involved.
- Research data are presented accurately and honestly.
- All authors have approved the submission.
- Any potential conflict of interest is disclosed.
- Open Access Policy
IJSS follows an Open Access policy, providing immediate and unrestricted access to all published articles to support the global exchange of scientific knowledge.

All articles published in IJSS are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).
- Article Processing Charges
IJSS does not charge any submission fees, article processing charges (APC), or publication fees. All publication services are provided free of charge.
- Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted through the IJSS Online Journal System (OJS). Authors are required to register as an Author and follow the submission procedures provided on the journal website.
