The publication ethics policy of Momentum International Journal of Civil Engineering (MIJCE) refers to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and complies with the MIJCE Editorial Board’s code of conduct. Readers, authors, reviewers, and editors are required to follow these ethics policies in every publication process within MIJCE.

This publication ethics aims to ensure the eligibility of publishing articles containing data and information that advance knowledge, science and technology, as well as the arts in the field of civil engineering. Peer Review Process

Identification and Handling of Research Misconduct Allegations

The Editor-in-Chief takes reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of articles involving research misconduct, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest through a Conflict of Interest Disclosure form. Editors must not be involved in decisions about manuscripts they have written themselves, manuscripts written by family members or colleagues, or manuscripts involving products or services in which they have an interest.

Acknowledgements

Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria should be listed in the “Acknowledgements” section. Examples include technical assistance, writing support, or administrative support.

Funding Disclosure

Authors must disclose any financial support received for their research. This meets sponsor requirements, increases transparency, and acknowledges the funder’s contribution.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

Based on COPE Editor Guidelines:

  • Have full authority to accept or reject a manuscript.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts before publication.

  • Preserve reviewer anonymity.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest.

  • Uphold academic integrity and meet the needs of readers and authors.

  • Be willing to investigate ethical complaints and issue corrections/retractions when necessary.

  • Not use unpublished material for personal gain.

  • Guest editors and associate editors play a key role in managing manuscripts for special issues.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

Based on COPE Reviewer Guidelines:

  • Assist editors in making publication decisions.

  • Maintain confidentiality of reviewed manuscripts.

  • Provide timely and objective comments.

  • Not use information from the manuscript for personal advantage.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

Authors of MIJCE must ensure that:

  1. The manuscript is original work, not previously published.

  2. All authors have agreed to the manuscript and the designation of the corresponding author.

  3. All data sources are acknowledged and cited.

  4. All authors have made significant contributions to the research.

  5. Any errors discovered after publication are promptly reported to the editor.

  6. The manuscript will be checked using plagiarism detection software.
